ZA3 SERVICE INFORMATION DEC 2022 ZA3 is a recall that involves installing a 15” locking dipstick which is designed to keep the engine compartment cleaner in the event that fluid is expelled from the transmission. It removes a service check from under the hood, making the transmission sealed, like most of our Stellantis products today. Some owners may still wish to check their transmission fluid. Many heavy truck owners are used to maintaining their own fluid levels, and for them, the 15” dipstick could create an ownership dissatisfaction touchpoint. Mopar will make available a 44” locking dipstick that can be retrofitted at a later date, via a CSN. This 44” locking dipstick will enable fluid levels to be measured. Inventory on the 44” locking dipsticks is expected to be available later in Q1 2023. If you encounter an owner that is dissatisfied with the ZA3 15” locking dipstick, please advise them that you understand their concern, and that you will order a 44” locking dipstick for them when the CSN Parts are available. The 15” Locking dipstick will satisfy recall completion and 44” available early 2023 would be a CSN item. Service Manager: Repair instructions advise dealership should retain ONE example of the recalled non-locking 44” dipstick for use as a service tool when a truck with a 15” dipstick comes into your service department. Please tag this dipstick so that it is clear to the user it is for use as a service tool only and should never be installed permanently in a customer’s vehicle. Render all other recalled non-locking 44” dipsticks unusable and discard. If one is needed before a ZA3 comes in for repair, it can be ordered by a dealer to check fluid. The old nonlocking 44” dipstick part number is 53034117AB and is used for the 68RFE (DG7) transmission for 2001-2022 on D1 DH, 2015-2018 D2 DJ. Thanks for your help and support. Should you have any questions, reach out to your Area Manager directly. Mopar
