02/10/2023 _____________________________________________________________________ New Safety Recall Advanced Communication – 17A FCA US LLC (FCA US) has announced an equipment safety recall on certain: MOPAR TRAILER REVERSE STEERING CONTROL MODULE 68423566AE MOPAR TRAILER REVERSE STEERING CONTROL MODULE 68423566AF MOPAR TRAILER REVERSE STEERING CONTROL MODULE 68423566AG MOPAR TRAILER REVERSE STEERING CONTROL MODULE 04672915AD MOPAR TRAILER REVERSE STEERING CONTROL MODULE 04672915AE REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL Some Trailer Reverse Steering Control Modules (TRSCMs) may prevent the rearview image from displaying under certain conditions. The vehicle operator will notice that the rearview image is not displayed if attempting to reference the image while backing. If this warning is not heeded, backing without verifying it is safe to do so could lead to an increased risk of injury to people outside the vehicle. SERVICE ACTION FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected parts to repurchase suspect TRSCMs. The remedy for this condition is not currently available. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in 1st Quarter of 2023. Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected parts to repurchase suspect TRSCMs. FCA US has a longstanding policy and practice of reimbursing owners who have incurred the cost of repairing a problem that subsequently becomes the subject of a field action. To ensure consistency, FCA US, as part of the owner letter, will request that customers send the original receipt and/or other adequate proof of payment to the company for confirmation of the expense.
