Descriptive Information : Some 2021 MY Alfa Romeo Giulia vehicles may have been equipped with a fuel line sensor housing that may crack and leak fuel.
The suspect period began on March 23, 2021, when defective fuel sensors were introduced into vehicle production, and ended on April 28, 2021, when the fuel sensors from the suspect batches were no longer used in vehicle production. The suspect population was determined using part traceability and vehicle production records.
Similar vehicles that are not included in the recall were built before or after the suspect period, were built with parts that were not affected, or were included in Recall Y91/21V-878.

Description of the Defect : The fuel line sensor fuel leak may cause fuel starvation of the engine. In rare circumstances, if the leaked fuel comes in contact with an ignition source, a fire could occur.

• On October 6, 2023, Stellantis Europe S.p.A received a warranty claim with a potential issue on an engine bay fuel bundle. • On December 8, 2023, Stellantis Europe S.p.A received another warranty claim and opened an internal investigation with the supplier to understand the potential impact to establish the root cause and additional traceability with Recall Y91/21V-878. • From December 8, 2023, through April 3, 2024, the supplier reviewed its production records and were able to trace additional part numbers that were identified with the scope of suspect components. • On April 18, 2024, the Stellantis Europe S.p.A organization recognized a vehicle build issue existed on certain vehicles that can lead to a potential fuel leak to the engine bay fuel bundle. • On April 23, 2024, Stellantis Europe S.p.A determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, to conduct a voluntary safety recall of the affected vehicles. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : FCA US LLC (“FCA US”) will conduct a voluntary safety recall of all affected
vehicles to replace the fuel line sensor housing. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
Identify How/When Recall Condition was Corrected in Production :
FCA US has a longstanding policy and practice of reimbursing owners who have incurred the cost of repairing a problem that subsequently becomes the subject of a field action. To ensure consistency, FCA US, as part of the owner letter, will request that customers send the original receipt and/or other adequate proof of payment to the company for confirmation of the expense.
The remedy component is a fuel line sensor with properly molded housing. NR Recall Schedule :

New Safety Recall Advanced Communication – 54B
FCA US LLC (FCA US) has announced a safety recall on certain 2021 Model Year (GA) Alfa Romeo Giulia vehicles.
REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL
Some of the above vehicles may have been equipped with a fuel line sensor housing that may crack and leak fuel. The fuel line sensor fuel leak may cause fuel starvation of the engine. Vehicle occupants may notice a fuel smell while the engine is running or reduced vehicle performance. If the leaked fuel comes in contact with an ignition source, a fire could occur. Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage.
SERVICE ACTION
FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall of all affected vehicles to replace the fuel line sensor housing. The remedy for this condition is not currently available. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in 2nd Quarter of 2024.
