Rear Door Glass Stain
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves removing stains from the rear door glass.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before May 09, 2015 (MDH 0509XX) with sales code XL9 – Portuguese (Brazil) Language.
DISCUSSION:
Some customers may describe stains on the rear door glass as shown in (Fig. 1). This bulletin contains the procedure for removing stains from the glass.

NOTE: Each 1 liter bottle of 3M Finesse-it finishing material 81235 will service approximately 16 vehicles.
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

NOTE: The rotary polish machine is a non-reimbursable shop tool.
GLASS STAIN REMOVAL:
- Position the vehicle in an area with good illumination.
NOTE: Protect the vehicle interior and door panel from finishing material during the cleaning and polishing process.
- Clean the window area with a microfiber cloth on the inside and outside of the glass.
- Using circular movements, apply the 3M Finesse-it finishing material (or equivalent) to the inside and outside of the glass (Fig. 2).

NOTE: A rotary buffer equipped with wool pad is required for the polishing process in order to raise the glass surface temperature for complete glass stain removal.
- Polish the glass stain area using a rotary buffer equipped with wool pad (Fig. 3).

- Use a microfiber cloth to remove all product residue (Fig. 4).
