Rear Door Rattle Noise
OVERVIEW:
**This bulletin involves replacing the left rear door upper and lower latches and the rear door center striker.**

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may describe a rear door rattle noise and/or a rear door lower latch not working properly. An example of a properly functioning latch (1) and malfunctioning latch (2) are shown in (Fig. 1).

DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
- Replace both right and left rear door upper latches. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info> 23 Body> Doors – Rear> Latch, Door, Rear Upper> Removal/Installation.
- Replace the rear door lower latch. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info> 23 – Body> Doors – Rear> Latch, Door, Rear Lower> Removal/Installation.
- Replace the rear door center latch striker and fasteners. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info> 23 Body> Doors – Rear> Striker, Door Latch> Center> Removal/Installation.
