Incorrect 5.7L Engine Oil Dipstick
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing the correct engine oil indicator (Dipstick).
MODELS:
Durango
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA, EMEA, APAC OR LATAM.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before June 02, 2015 (MDH 0602XX) equipped with 5.7L Engine (Sales Codes EZH).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may notice blue smoke coming from the tail pipe after the vehicle was started. Also after performing an oil change the Dipstick may indicate the oil was low. When changing the oil and filter, service information shows 7 quarts / 6.6 liters are required. After installing 7 quarts / 6.6 liters the Dipstick may indicate the engine oil level is 1 quart / .95 liters low.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer describe the symptom/condition listed above, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
- Remove the Dipstick from the tube and look for the part number.

- Yes >>> This bulletin does not apply. Perform normal diagnostics.
- No >>> Replace the Dipstick with part number 53034186AD.
- Verify and adjust oil level.
