OVERVIEW:
This bulletin provides soft top vinyl window precautions during cold weather.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with Vinyl Soft Top Window.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vinyl windows are susceptible to cracking when handled in cold temperature below 41°F (5°C). The condition shown in (Fig. 1) is not warrantable.

DISCUSSION:
In cold weather conditions below 41°F (5°C) the soft top vinyl windows may be more susceptible to cracking while being stretched or folded.
If the temperature is 41°F (5°C) or below, do not attempt to put the vinyl top up/down or roll/unroll the rear or side curtains. Place the vehicle in a warm area and allow the vinyl to reach an ambient temperature above 41°F (5°C) before attempting to put the top up/down or roll/unroll the rear or side curtains. Once the vinyl is warm, pull steadily on the top fabric.
The vinyl will stretch back to its original size and the top can then be installed.
