Manual Sliding Door May Not Open after The Fuel Door Is Opened Then Closed

OVERVIEW:

This bulletin involves replacing the latch assembly for the fuel fill door blocker.

MODELS:

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA, EMEA, LATAM.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to RT vehicles built on or after September 29, 2015 (MDH 0929XX) and on or before October 16, 2015 (MDH 1016XX) equipped with manual sliding side door.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The customer may describe that the manual sliding door may not open after the fuel door has been opened and closed.

DIAGNOSIS:

If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Open the fuel door.
Close the fuel door.
Open the manual sliding door from the exterior.
Does the manual sliding door open?
1. YES>>> This bulletin has been completed. Use LOP (23-41-01-9L) to close the active RRT.
2. NO>>> Proceed to Step #5.
Replace the fuel fill door blocker latch. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info> 23 Body/Exterior/Latch, Fuel Fill Door Blocker/Removal/Installation.

POLICY:

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
