Descriptive Information : Some 2021-2022 MY Ram ProMaster vans may have left taillamps/turn signal lamps that stop working due to a poor connection in a wire harness.
The suspect period began on February 21, 2021, when improper wire harnesses installation began in vehicle upfit production, and ended on April 28, 2022, when proper wire harnesses installation began in vehicle upfit production. Supplier and vehicle production records were used to identify the suspect period.
Similar vehicles not included in the recall were built before or after the suspect period or did not have improper wire harness installation.

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) 108 Table I-a requires Turn Signal Lamps to “Flash when the turn signal flasher is actuated …” and the Taillamps be “Must be activated when the headlamps are activated.” Suspect vehicles may not have functioning taillamps/turn signal lamps. Description of the Safety Risk : If the vehicle has left taillamps/turn signal lamps that are not working, it may reduce the vehicles visibility to other drivers, which can cause a crash

• On March 30, 2022, the FCA US LLC (“FCA US”) Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (“TSRC”) organization was notified of a potential issue related to taillamp/turn signal lamp failures on some FCA US vehicles. • From April 2022, through January 2024, FCA US TSRC conducted an analysis of taillamp/turn signal lamp failure patterns and vehicle history and determined that the affected vehicles may have been built with a wire harness with incomplete crimping. • On February 21, 2024, the FCA US TSRC organization recognized a vehicle build issue existed on certain vehicles related to an improper wire harness installation that can lead to the left taillamp/turn signal lamp becoming inoperative, potentially resulting in a noncompliance with FMVSS No. 108. • On March 07, 2024, FCA US determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, to conduct a voluntary safety recall of the affected vehicles. Description of Remedy :
Description of Remedy Program : FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles. The
remedy is under development. How Remedy Component Differs from Recalled Component :
FCA US has a longstanding policy and practice of reimbursing owners who have incurred the cost of repairing a problem that subsequently becomes the subject of a field action. To ensure consistency, FCA US, as part of the owner letter, will request that customers send the original receipt and/or other adequate proof of payment to the company for confirmation of the expense.
This recall is not related to a part defect but rather an upfit component assembly issue where the supplier echo backup alarm harness installation could result in the left turn signal and flashers to stop working. New Safety Recall Advanced Communication – 21B
FCA US LLC (FCA US) has announced a safety recall on certain 2021 and 2022 Model Year (VF) Ram ProMaster vehicles.
VINs identified as being involved in this campaign are currently live and searchable. Stop sale is in effect for the above-identified vehicles.
Vehicles impacted by a stop sale are eligible for reimbursement allowance through the Recall Floorplan Reimbursement Policy (RFPRP), which can be requested upon recall claim submission.
REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL
Some of the above vehicles may have left taillamps/turn signal lamps that stop working due to a poor connection in a wire harness. If the vehicle has left taillamps/turn signal lamps that are not working, it may reduce the vehicles visibility to other drivers, which can cause a crash without prior warning.
The condition described above does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108 Table I-a which requires Turn Signal Lamps to “Flash when the turn signal flasher is actuated …” and the Taillamps “Must be activated when the headlamps are activated.”
SERVICE ACTION
FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles. The remedy for this condition is not currently available. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in 2nd Quarter of 2024.
