SUBJECT:

Incorrectly Installed Front Wheel Speed Sensor Wire

 

OVERVIEW:

This bulletin involves rotating the front wheel speed sensor wire 180° into the mounting bracket.

 

MODELS:

2015 (LD) Dodge Charger

 

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before February 4, 2015 (MDH 0204XX) equipped with AWD Police Group (sales code AHB), Police ABS 4-Wheel HD Disc Brakes (sales code BR9).

 

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Some vehicles may have been built with the front wheel speed sensor wire installed incorrectly into the mounting bracket.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition listed above, perform the Repair Procedure.

 

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info> 04 – Vehicle Quick Reference> Hoisting – Standard Procedure.

NOTE: There is no need to remove the tire and wheel assembly. Access can be gained by turning the tire and wheel in or out on vehicle.

  1. Rotate the left front wheel and tire assembly. Look at the mounting of the wheel speed sensor wire (1) in the bracket for incorrect installation as shown below ( 1).

  1. If it is incorrectly installed remove the wheel speed sensor wire from the mounting bracket ( 2).

  1. Rotate the wheel speed sensor wire 180° then reinstall as shown (1) ( 3).

  1. Repeat procedure for the right front side.
  2. Straighten the wheels froward and lower the vehicle.
