Incorrect 6.4L Engine Oil Dipstick
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing the correct engine oil indicator (Dipstick).
MODELS:

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before June 12, 2015 (MDH 0612XX) equipped with 6.4L Engine (Sales Codes ESG).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer and/or technician may notice after performing an oil change the Dipstick may indicate the oil was over filled. When changing the oil and filter, service information shows 7 quarts are required. After installing 7 quarts the Dipstick may indicate the engine is over filled by 1 quart.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
- Remove the Dipstick from the tube and look for the part number.

- Is part number 05038472AA on the Dipstick?
- Yes >>> Replace the Dipstick with part number 05038472AB.
- No >>> This bulletin does not pertain, perform normal diagnostics if needed.
NOTE: Check engine oil level and adjust if needed.
