Unable to Program Keys After Wireless Ignition Node Replacement

NOTE: This bulletin applies to RT vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine (sales code ERB) built on or before November 21, 2013 (MDH 1121XX) and JS vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine (sales code ERB) or a 2.4L engine (sales code ED3 or EDG) built on or before January 16, 2014 (MDH 0116XX).
DISCUSSION:
Technicians may find that the original vehicle keys/FOBIKs do not function properly following replacement of the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN/WCM). The Secret Key information stored in the PCM may be corrupt. The Powertrain Control Module must be updated to the latest available software to allow the PCM to properly store/transfer valid secret key information. Refer to all applicable published service bulletins for detailed repair procedures and labor times regarding updating the PCM software.
NOTE: If the WIN had been replaced prior to this software update, the original keys/FOBIKs will need to be replaced.
NOTE: Perform the “PCM Replaced” function located in wiTECH under the WCM/WIN module view under the Miscellaneous Functions tab. This will transfer the current/valid Secret Key information from the WIN/WCM to the PCM.
